1.1. Algorand blitz tournaments are a series of online events at the FIDE Online Arena. The organiser of the Tournaments is World Chess Events LTD.

1.2. Algorand, a world-class blockchain powering secure and efficient frictionless exchange, is the official blockchain sponsor of the 2021 FIDE World Championship Match.


2.1. Any player registered at the FIDE Online Arena ( has the right to participate.

2.2 Players are expected to use their real (legal) name upon registration at the FIDE Online Arena and upon joining the Tournament.

2.3. By competing in the tournament, each participant agrees that his/her real (legal) name will be shown in his/her personal profile, while his/her games are in progress and in the Final Table.

2.4. By signing up each player agrees to abide by the Regulations of the tournament, including the anti-cheating rules which are specified as follows.


3.1. Time Control: 5 min blitz

3.2. Pairing System - Swiss (FIDE Online Arena Algorithm)

3.3. The Series consists of 4 qualifying tournaments and the Final.

3.4 To qualify for the Final, a player has to finish in the top five (i.e 1-5 inclusive) in one of the qualifying tournaments.

3.5. Once a player has qualified for the Final, his/her results won't be taken into account in the next qualifying tournaments. If such a player were to take another qualifying place (i.e. anywhere from 1st to 5th place), a player who was placed 6th in the table would take the qualifying spot in this particular tournament.

3.6. The Final will take a place on October 24th, 2021 at 15:00 UTC with 20 participants. Only those players who have qualified through the qualifying tournaments will participate in the Final.
